Access Statement

We aim to cater for the needs of all visitors in our family home. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.

Pre-Arrival

We are located only 4 miles from Norwich Rail Station. If guests are arriving by train taxi’s are plentiful at the Station. Most guests arrive by car. Once at Hall Park there is a local bus service which runs into and from Norwich and Loddon several times a day, the bus stop is directly at the bottom of our drive, about a 100 yards from the main building.

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

There are no designated parking bays - our car park consists of gravel, is level and lit at night. We can assist guests with luggage.

Main Entrance and Reception

There is one step of 6” from the gravel drive onto the porch and then a further small step through the front door. The door is 32” wide. On entry into our home there is a spacious hallway which at its narrowest point is 4 feet wide. Hall Park is all on the ground floor and the bedrooms are located at the end of the hall, some 55 feet from the front door.

Public Areas

Public areas are well lit. Breakfast is served in the breakfast/sitting room. There are no steps, just a very small threshold, less than ½” high. Furniture is flexible and can be moved on request. All dining chairs are without arms. Lounge chairs are also available for your relaxation and comfort.

Bedrooms

All bedrooms and bathrooms have even floors. There are no steps into the bedrooms or into the bathrooms, there is one step into the shower cubicles in all ensuites. The entrance to the bedrooms is approximately 32" wide and into the bathrooms 29” wide.

Additional Information.

The Garden Room and the breakfast room have French doors into the Garden. From both rooms there is a shallow step onto a paved area into the garden.  The garden can also be accessed through the door at the end of the hall. There is a step of 6” from the building onto an shingle path. We are a no smoking establishment. We have smoke alarms fitted in 4 parts of the hall.

If you require more assistance for emergency evacuation, please notify us on arrival and we will ensure you are evacuated safely if required (e.g. hearing impairment). Guests are welcome to use our main fridge for medication etc, please ask on arrival but be aware that access will not be available 24 hours, there is also a fridge in the hall, by the guests rooms, which is available for all guests to use, to store cold drinks etc.

Swimming Pool

The swimming pool and surrounding building is heated to between 28 - 30 degrees Centigrade. The swimming pool is 32’ long and 15’ wide. The pool has two sets of access steps. The steps have hand rails and there are 3 ladder type steps into the pool. The first set of steps is into the shallow end of the pool, this is 3 feet deep. The 3 feet depth is constant for the width of the pool and slopes at half the length. The deepest point is 6’ 3”. Externally there are 2 wide steps from the drive into the pool building, there are no further steps within the pool building, the changing rooms and toilet are all on the same level. There is one step into the shower adjacent to the changing room, this leads onto the tiled shower floor.
